Very welcome! This week let’s learn something about Guangdong Cuisine!! Guangdong province is located in south China, on the South China Sea coast.

It is the most populous province in China and the wealthiest one as well. Needless to say, Guangdong cuisine is one of the most famous Chinese cuisines around the world. Since Guangdong has an official abbreviation name, Yue (like how you call Arizona “Ariz”), Guangdong cuisine is also called Yue cuisine. Many of you may have heard of dim sum, char siu (barbecued pork), white cut chicken, etc. They all belong to Yue cuisine. Yue cuisine is known for using a wide variety of foodstuff and its lighter flavors. If you want to have a taste of Chinese food but don’t like strong flavors, Yue cuisine is your choice.
Now, let’s jump right into the tutorial. Some of you have mentioned that the previous tutorials are too complicated and too much stuff is needed. So, this time, I will teach you a super easy way to cook.
The dish I’d like to introduce is Steamed Bass. What you are going to need are:

A bass;

Salt;

Cooking wine;

Green onion;

Ginger;

Soy sauce;

Oil;

(Super easy, right?)

1.

Spread the bass with a thin layer of salt and ginger, both inside and outside. And pour two spoons of cooking wine onto the fish. Leave it for ten minutes.

2.

Steam the fish for ten minutes.

3.

Pour some soy sauce onto the fish and add some slivers of green onion.

4.(very important!)

Boil some oil, then drizzle it over the fish.

I don’t have a suitable dish to place the fish, so it came out like this. But trust me, it tastes awesome!

Anyway, I find you an image of the dish from the internet. ENJOY! : )
