Hello, welcome to my blog. Last week I went to China town with Irene and had a talk with her about Chinese food. Irene is a foodie who has a passion for Chinese food, and I have no doubt on that. However, last time during the chatting, I was amazed that she did not know Chinese dried hot pot, which has become one of the most popular food throughout Chinese people. It’s hard for me to express how I love it, but if I have to choose between dried hot pot and any other kind of dishes, dried hot pot would always be my first choice.
Dried hot pot is a spicy, appetizing dish, which is a form of a mix of different ingredients depending on your own choices. The dish is served with a pot containing a variety of cooked food. A common argument claims that dried hot pot is originated from Chongqing cuisine, which also belongs to Chuan cuisine. It is known for its spicy, nice-smelling flavor as well as the use of abundant ingredients. Usually, a dried hot pot restaurant will have many different ingredients for customers to choose. It is quite similar to the process of having hot pot, but it’s dried and tastes better.
Luckily, if you have never tasted, nor even heard dried hot pot before, there are some decent restaurants serving dried hot pot in New York, and they are as good as China’s restaurants. Below are the two I have been to and highly recommend to you.
- Manting. 150 W 49th St, New York, NY 10019
2. 108 Food Dried Hot Pot. 2794 Broadway, New York, NY 10025
